Rick and Morty is a popular animated science-fiction sitcom that has captured the hearts of fans worldwide with its unique brand of humor and wacky adventures. The show's popularity has resulted in a range of merchandise, including toys, apparel, and even video games. In this case study, we'll delve into the creation of a 2D animation marketing video for multiple clients, exploring the challenges faced, the design elements involved, and the role of a 2D animator in bringing the video to life.
As a 2D animator, my primary responsibility was to create the character poses and animation sequences that would make up the video. This involved working closely with the stakeholders to ensure that the designs matched the show's aesthetic and that the movements were fluid and believable. Additionally, I collaborated with the sound designer to ensure that the animation sequences were synced up with the audio.
One of the main challenges we faced in creating this video was translating the show's unique visual style into a 2D format. I had to ensure that the character designs were recognisable while still being simplified enough to work in a 2D environment. Another challenge was animating the characters' movements in a way that felt true to their personalities while also being engaging to watch.

I created multiple poses for Morty and Meeseeks too, including their signature looks, as well as making sure every element is dynamic for action sequences.
